The Wavecrest College of Hospitality, Surulere, Lagos, has emerged second in this year’s digital innovation hospitality competition in Paris, France.
Naseefat Bello, Zita Ubajaka and Onyinye Ibegbulem, all final year Higher National Diploma students, represented the college at the competition.
The school, in a verbalization on Monday by its Head of Academics, Belinda Nwosu, verbalized a leading hotel operator, Accor, organised the competition targeted at identifying a pristine mobile accommodation that could transform the hospitality world and customer experience.
No fewer than 500 students from 68 universities, business schools and hotel management institutions participated in the competition held between April 2 and June 18, 2014.
The all-female Nigerian participants engendered a mobile communication and training application for Accor employees worldwide.
Their ingress coalesces the features of popular gregarious media applications to engender a platform for Accor employees to engage, share and learn utilizing their smartphones.
Speaking at the awards presentation, the Accor Group President, Sébastien Bazin, hailed the Wavecrest’s ingression, verbalizing it physically contacted on humanity.
The Accor Group’s Schools Relations and Partnerships Director, Fabrice Tessier, withal exalted the students for their efforts.
He verbalized, “They were very intrepid, solemn and not trepidacious of being on such an intricate subject. They took into account the HR perspective which was very pristine.”
Meanwhile, the Vatel International Business School in Thailand came first in the tournament with their special smartphone application.
The three other finalist teams are Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, Switzerland; Centro Superior de Hosteleria de Galicia, Spain; and the Queenstown Resort College of Hospitality, New Zealand.
