PHOTO: How A Bridge In Abia State Collapsed

Tragedy was averted in Abia state as the popular Igwu bridge, which links Ndi Ebe Abam to other towns, collapsed on July 1, 2014, Tuesday, when a 25-ton tipper carrying gravel plied on it.
According to Linda Ikeji, no lives were disoriented, but the villagers have verbalized as a result of the bridge collapsing they don’t have access to other towns. The bridge, made with irons and planks, accommodated as the only way for the residents of the area to peregrinate to other towns.

The villagers are reportedly appealing to the Arochukwu LGA Chairman and Abia State Government to come to their avail and avail reconstruct the bridge, which has been neglected for years, in a more preponderant way. The residents, who were adversely affected by this incident, implored for construction of a perennial bridge.
